The Bay is only about a three-minute drive down the road and the beautiful beach is great for body boarding and surfing. At the Kalihiwai River, adjacent to the beach, you can take advantage of kayaking and paddle boarding.

Kalihiwai Bay is a short half mile drive where tourists and locals alike prize this beach for its beauty, serenity and famed surf break.

The Kilauea/Kalihiwai area is one of the premier, whale-watching locations on Kauai and seeing their spouts is an almost daily occurrence during winter months. Dolphins and turtles are also regular visitors to this coastline and even the rare Hawaiian Monk Seal has been spotted playing in the water below.
